    6. Linn Halton says:

This is a fun read and I found myself almost wanting to speak some of the British Cockney dialogue out aloud, just to see if I could recreate it realistically Of course, I couldn t, but then I found myself reading it and imagining it as a play with each chapter a new scene The start of each became a cue for the next stage setting I found myself smiling and adding character exits left.or right Who would play the infamous Doreen the lottery winner , or the wonderful Pat such a gentle, caring man T [...]

    7. Maureen Miller says:

This book reminded me of boarding the Love Boat , only in this case it is the beautiful resort of Villas Bonitas The clientele in this posh resort entertained me with every page Yes, Doreen Wilkinson is the star, and she is a doll She is a former maid turned multi millionaire when winning a lottery ticket And you couldn t help but to root for her throughout the story But it was the guests and staff at Villas Bonitas that riveted me Well done, Ms Barclay You captured all the idiosyncrasies of the [...]

This is a delightful summer read set at the sunny Villa Bonitas I enjoyed the secondary characters as much as Doreen Wilkinson, the woman in the story who won the British lottery The author did an excellent job of tying them all together, their secrets and stories, sprinkled with British humor.

In Sometimes it Happens we re introduced to the Villas Bonitas as we meet Doreen Wilkinson Doreen is a true rags to riches story a council estate girl, a single mother, living on the breadline someone who suddenly wins millions on the lottery and has to adjust to her new found wealth The Villas Bonitas are also home to a number of other characters, who we gradually come to know over the course of the novel These characters range from the sweet, to the downright horrible, and all have a story of [...]

    15. Anne Mackle says:

I did quite enjoy this book for a quick read I didn t like the cockney twang dialogue through the book as it made Doreens speech hard to read and I didn t think or FINK it was really needed It did have a moral that money isn t everything and all the money in the world can t buy love.I will be reading the other books by this author as they seem to be stories that would interest me .

    16. Claire Carey says:
