    1. Arun Divakar says:

The terrorist attacks in Mumbai on the 26th of November 2008 shocked the world with the carnage it unleashed The masterminds behind the plot were exposed with solid evidence to back it up and still pretty much nothing happened to them There are still ongoing cases in Pakistan and the US but the clich d bringing the perpetrators to justice is a clamor that has almost died down I have heard it repeated time and again in many a gathering that India should strike back at anyone who dares attack her [...]

A typical filmy story line The moment I was done with the Prologue, I knew I am delving into a not so interesting and a total bollywood story line featuring Agent Vinod aka Saif Ali Khan or our best spy, Salman Khan Still I hoped Mr Zaidi wouldn t disappoint his readers and their love for his efforts But, alas it seems he has let down our expectations.Six Indians want to avenge the 26 11 attacks on India and how they do is in a form of classified, covert operation The mention of facts, ways of k [...]

Having read and liked Dongri to Dubai, I picked up this book.Dongri to Dubai had a lot of content, and was published at a time when the inner workings of Mumbai s Mafia was not common knowledge It had therefore grabbed my attention despite the writing being indifferent. In Mumbai Avengers, the writing remains as indifferent but the content is missing Instead of good content, we have a filmy story The prologue and the first couple of chapters gives you a sense of what is to come.Credibility too is [...]

    4. Siddhartha says:

The tagline on the cover Soon to be a major motion picture PHANTOM ing SAIF ALI KHAN KATRINA KAIF describes the book in an apt way The plot is filmy and gives the impression that even before starting to write the book, S Hussain Zaidi had sold book s rights to be made into a movie No regrets on reading just about an ok fictional book, but I would like to see Zaidi writing of non fictions.

    5. Divya Sharma says:

First Abu Salem and now this, Mr Zaidi has really managed to keep me glued to his books so much that I can t wait to grab another one from his kitty Mumbai Avenger s plot is based on true events but the story has been given a fictional touch And having said that, not even once you will feel that all the characters are fictional and nothing of this has happened or can happen in reality High tech master plans to counter terrorism, crossing borders, creating multiple identities, exploding bombs, fi [...]

I was sooo excited to start this book because I ve loved many previous Zaidi works The concept of this is so intriguing and fuels the embers of frustration borne out of the inaction of our government after 26 11 It has sensational claims and appeals to the Indian mass I m not sure if this is his first forray into fiction but Zaidi s writing style is pretty dry, as usual, even in fiction and lacks personality seeming like an accumulation of clinical statements and haphazardly inserts the feel of [...]

    8. Rahul Khatri says:

Thriller with Economical Car Pace MUMBAI AVENGERS as described has been a sentiment , a dream and an ambition especially in the post 26 11 scenario After US Intrusion deep inside pakistan to assasinate Osama Bin Laden who s responsible for thousands of innocent killings , every single Indian Citizen wants same from their Government to go inside the enemy territory and avenge the death of Indians in 2611 Plot hatched with the JPC Meet headed by Retired Lt Syed Ali Waris who is strongly in favour [...]

    9. Vishal Kale says:

The plot is deceptively simple go after the perpetrators, the planners of the 26 11 plot and bring them to justice, strike back at the monster and seek justice for the victims of the wanton murder and mayhem that happened from 26 11 2008 to 30 11 2008 in Mumbai, India The book is, from the start to the finish, single mindedly focussed on only one aspect Justice There are no subplots, no needless twists and turns, and no mandatory love angle anywhere That is the beauty of the plot it is a lovely t [...]

    10. Rahul Mohan says:

The biggest mistake I did was watching the movie Phantom, directed by Kabir Khan which was based on this novel before actually reading the book As I had a pile of books which I had bought but yet to read, I postponed buying this book every time I spotted it online or in a book store The Diwali sale on offered me the Kindle version of this book for a price much cheaper, I could not refuse it The book finally made way to my Kindle and I started reading it The film did not do any justice to the boo [...]

Reading Mr Hussain Zaidi proves that he is that band of Muslims who proves all the conservatives wrong Yes, this was the first book of this author i was reading, and guess what before completing it, i ordered other of his book dongri to dubai Really, he has a lots of courage So much that he has written on the don dangerous as Dawood Ibrahim Coming onto this boo, the book starts with a topic Hitting directly at the bulls eye, showing the weaknesses of our nation Especially the beauraracy and the [...]

    12. Sudhir R says:

It starts of well but losses it s plot the way India lost it s, after the independence, in terms of handling Pakistan from the day one I wish ZAIDI and lot of we Indians, our dream to nail Pakistan comes true and hope India s top brass have the balls to do so Why take an example from America, I think we should use the plethora of Indian intelligence The only thing is we should have the political will that America had in Osama s case But then there is this vote bank which has to be taken care of, [...]

    13. Abhishek says:

A filmy thriller, but entertaining nonetheless A book even though on fiction coming from Zaidi saheb has a set of expectation He has tried to stay true to them, to the best of his abilities.Story has some really convenient plot twists, which after once or twice starts to dilute the overall plot If we have the expectation of a really good literature read, we might be disappointed On the other hand, if the expectation is to read for fun, its much better than many of its peers

    14. Sadiq Kazi says:

The characters and the background of the plot is too real, with just the names changed from Lakhvi to Umavi and Headley to Bradley although the author slips at one place, at the beginning This is strictly movie material as the plot that begins with facts moves on to become too fantastic You just end up wishing if only this could become true.

    15. Kamesh Kumar N says:

The story line of a group of patriotic Indians taking revenge for 26 11 is good but the execution is not up to the expectation Fictional plots to kill the terror masterminds does not sound practical in some cases Overall pace of the story is good and it rides solely on the patriotic feeling of India.

    16. Sasmit Deshpande says:

apart from the last 50 60 pages which sound too good to be true, the rest of the book is perfecty researched, brilliantly written with emphasis on minute details I find his writing reminiscent of Frederick Fordsyths books.

    17. Aruna Kumar Gadepalli says:

Easy quick read Thriller with conspiracies involved with intelligence units Though at times the pace is slow, but you won t lose interest.

    18. Rajan Mishra says:

I am still wondering why Hussain Zaidi decided to write up this book Too much dramatic and too easy plot convenience It is a fantasy story which revolves around a lieutenant general and his alpha team of soldiers The team decides to avenge the Mumbai terror attacks The story was okay till this.Once they form a team, everything seems a cakewalk for them From killing out a terrorist in a 5 star hotel to finding Bradley s read Headley address in a foreign country, there is too much of plot easiness [...]

    19. Abhishek Prakash says:

The soul of the book was in the right place The writing was average with too many cliche Read it for the thought behind the book

    20. Gautam Dutta says:

The Saif Ali Khan Katrina Kaif starrer Phantom is inspired by this novel And by inspiration, I mean a loose inspiration indeed Apart from the villains, Hafiz Saaed and company, no character that is in the book is in the movie And vice versa While the plot details in the book are better crafted than those in the movie, unlike the movie, the book tends to get terribly slow at some points Which is a no no for an espionage thriller And some of the plot points are inconsistent the most glaringly obvi [...]

    21. Reshov says:

Is this your sense of justice, which you announce to the whole world These men are still alive, and for all purposes, they re still free Ask the people if they think that s justice Go and ask the woman who lost her husband and only child in the attack The Mumbai AvengersBy S Hussain ZaidiGenre Thriller, Fantasy, Contemporary FictionS Hussain Zaidi has penned a tremendous work of fiction we would only wish to be true This is the first sign of a fictional promise from the investigative journalist [...]

    22. Rajan says:

some excerpts Mumbai Avengers has been a sentiment, a dream and an ambition, especially in the post 26 11 scenario It irks me that our cunning neighbours have always had an upper hand in proxy wars and that our government has often manifested its chronic impotence We are in an age of asymmetrical war No longer do vast armies of ill trained conscripts confront each other in huge and, hopefully, decisive battles, writes Nigel Cawthorne in his investigative book Warrior Elite What is required are s [...]

    23. Krithikaa Iyer says:

This is an escapist fantasy for the fanatic patriots who believe that violence and deceit should be answered violently. You have an officer who addresses a JPC committee and flaunts an idea about executing hit jobs of wanted terrorists He puts together a team of wannabe ludlum aka Jason Bourne type protagonists most of them with skeletons in the past His benevelent conviniently RAW chief with connections everywhere friend sanctions the operation without the govt knowing about it and provides the [...]

    24. Isha says:

These are your targets First, Sabahuddin Umavi 26 11 mastermind Second, Wajid Mir recruiter, trainer and strategist of Lashkar Third, Damien Bradley white American, all round recon man Fourth Mahmoud Azhar fugitive, terrorist Fifth, Haaris Saeed the man in charge, the brains behind Lashkar Our objective is to eliminate each of these men With them gone, the Lashkar e Toiba will be directionless without a leader That s a step in the direction we want to take to make India safer In the Author s Not [...]

    25. Divij says:

The first time I heard of this book was courtesy its Bollywood counterpart, Phantom, due to hit theaters in August A quick look familiarized me with the concept A group of army intelligence operatives hatch out a plan to take out the perpetrators of Mumbai s 26 11 attacks in a covert operation in a direct inspiration from the Abbottabad operation of the U.S Intrigued I immediately put the movie on my watch list as I decided to read this book in anticipation of the movie.Yes, the book gets absolu [...]

    26. Prajakt Karanjkar says:

6 people, on a secret mission with resourced by the head of the Indian intelligence agency, avenging the terror act took place on 26 November 2008 at India s financial capital, Mumbai, is the main concept of this book The main thing is, this book is not just fiction As per Indian filmmaker Kabir Khan s opinion on the book it s an interesting combination of fiction and facts which, in combination, can be called as Faction I ve been a fan of Hussain Zaidi, since I read his masterpiece on Mumbai s [...]

    27. Bulbul says:

This book is like D Day the movie It starts off well but ends with a far fetched, boring and absurd ending 5 years after 26 11, all the hot shots of the government and the army are in a meeting The army guy suggests using tactics like USA or Israel to bring the terrorists to justice death and not the court but the government guys are too not ready to take that risk So, one man recruits a team to kill 6 terrorists Nobody else knows about the team, they take help from intelligence of China, Israel [...]

    28. Yoginder Agarwal says:

As the title reads, it is a fictional account of a team cobbled together by an Army Officer to eliminate those responsible for 26 11 However, the book fails on a lot of accounts Action sequences are disjoint As if the author were imagining them playing out on the screen and expecting the readers to do the same The story is incredulous after the action shifts to Pakistan In a very hard to believe action sequence, a cab driver leads them to one of the bad lot Where did this guy pop out from A cab [...]

    29. Taran Sikka says:

While the book is nearly a thrill a minute adventure, it fails to impress me much as a reader It is unlike what I anticipated and much of a Bollywood script Just for the sentiment I m giving it an extra star This is close to what the government or the agencies should have done after a peaceful city was devastated and many maimed or killed All we did was make the apprehended criminal an honored guest, spent the tax payers precious money on him while extracting information which didn t come pf any [...]

    30. Mohit Ajwani says:

One of the best books by Gabriel Khan Loved the writing, the way every event is explained in detail in Mumbai Avengers You can visualize every scene explained by the author Must read book by every Indian, we really need such operations to happen I was very much connected to reality because India made a surgical attack on Pakistan when I was reading the part where Harris Saeed is assasinated in the book.
